Cigar Review
The ERdM Olvidados is the newest brand extension of the popular and fastidiously crafted El Rey del Mundo cigar brand. Released in the fall of 2007 to a limited number of retailers, the Olvidados are made for Cuban Imports, Ltd. by General in their Villazon factory in Danli, Honduras.
Packed 20 per rosewood box, they are comprised of deeply aged Nicaraguan Ligero, Honduran viso and Dominican seco filler tobaccos. Available in 5 "Chateau" sizes, these handmade cigars have a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and are wrapped in that rich, flavor-filled Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper.
Marco Lean, HATSA production manager, says "Of all of our renowned brands, El Rey del Mundo ® OLVIDADOS is the strongest blend our factory produces". I found this to be a fair statement, with the most comfortable size for me being the Chateau D. Moreover, yes, they are reminiscent of the old Cuban-style favorites. Now, if I could only get them to make these great smokes in maduro.
