Cigar Warehouse

Martinez New York

This brand is unique just by virtue of being hand rolled in New York since 1974. If you're ever in New York City, it's worth the visit if you have never watched the making of a cigar and it's location is right in the middle of the historic flat iron area downtown. You can stop by their micro factory on West 29th Street and watch their skilled tabaqueros hand roll this brand right before your eyes. Don't expect a huge factory though. It's a small unassuming store front with little room for a crowd.

The filler is a blend of tobacco leaf from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Honduras. The bunch is then bound with a Nicaraguan leaf and finished with a fine Ecuador Sumatran wrapper. The final product is a medium bodied smoking experience.

When first introduced, this brand was labeled a boutique cigar. That image changed as the Martinez New York brand has garnered a following of smokers who really enjoy its flavor. Only available in limited quantities, they are at times nearly impossible to find. Even so, when available they are not over the edge in price. Their highest priced and largest cigar, the Fifth Avenue is just $8.00.

A variety of sizes are available at Cigar Warehouse in box or singles.
